UM BRIDGES Offering Science Communications Workshop

Attendees will learn how to conceptualize a communications strategy for their science. Workshop will be led by Associate Professor Nadia White from the School of Journalism.

 Learning objectives:

  1. Understand your audience and tailor the what and the why of your message appropriately for the to whom: practitioners, policy-makers, public, press (the 4Ps)
  2. Understand the importance and process of pre-reporting
  3. Practice drafting a clear message, with little to no jargon
  4. Understand the power of storytelling and learn how to integrate people and places in communicating science

 This workshop is open to all graduate students and faculty at the University of Montana, although space is limited.

The workshop will be held over two sessions:

Monday, November 20 4:30-7:30 pm and Monday, November 27, 5:30-8:30 pm. Both sessions will be held in Stone Hall room 304.

 Attendance is free, but space is limited and available on a first-come first-served basis.
